Martin and Kaminski. Absent: <br />Councilmembers J. Martin and Leonard. Also present were City Secretary Patrice Fogarty, City <br />Manager Corby Alexander, and Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins. <br />2. INVOCATION — The invocation was given by Clark Askins. <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Kristin Martin. <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Limited to five minutes per person.) <br />Chuck Rosa, 812 S. Virginia, addressed Council and expressed that he would like to see the Yellow <br />Rose of Texas as the artwork on the Main Street Water Tank. <br />5. AUTHORIZATION <br />(a) Consider approval or other action regarding minutes of the meeting held on <br />June 27, 2016 — P. Fogarty <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held on June 27, 2016. <br />Councilmember Zemanek seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 7/0. Councilmembers <br />J. Martin and Leonard were absent. <br />6. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION <br />(a) Discussion and possible action regarding pricing structure for events for the City of La Porte <br />1251h Anniversary Celebration — T. Leach <br />Assistant City Manager Traci Leach presented a summary. Ms. Leach informed that the committee <br />recommended transitioning away from a black tie event on Friday night to having a nice buffet <br />dinner and dancing at $50.00 per couple. Ms. Leach reported the committee suggested a presale of <br />tickets for La Porte residents at $10.00 per ticket with no limit to the amount of tickets purchased to <br />each person with a water bill as proof of residence. Beyond the presale, at the gate tickets are <br />suggested $20.00 per person even if you are not a resident. The committee suggested the Gospel <br />Brunch for $30.00 per person. <br />Councilmember Zemanek moved to go forward with the committee's recommendation. <br />Councilmember Earp seconded.
