<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />:-. <br /> <br />and further notice of said election shall be given by posting <br /> <br />a copy of this Ordinance at the City Hall for thirty (30) <br /> <br />days next preceding said election. <br /> <br />Section. 7. The C~ty Clerk is hereby authorized and <br /> <br />directed to give notice of said election in accordance with <br /> <br />Section 6 hereof. <br /> <br />Section 8. Upon a candidate tendering his application <br /> <br />on the form prescribed, the City Clerk shall furnish to such <br /> <br />candidate all information relative to the qualifications for <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />the office being sought; the method of placing the candidate's <br />name on the ballot; the amount of the required filing fee; <br /> <br />and any other pertinent inform~tion concerning said election. <br />Section 9. The deadline for a candidate to make <br /> <br />application to have his name appear upon the ballot for such <br /> <br />election, is 'hereby designated and established as five o'clock <br /> <br />(5:00) P.M. on Saturday, March 22nd, 1969, and the City Clerk <br /> <br />of t,he City of La Porte is hereby directed to open office on <br /> <br />said date, for the sole purpose of receiving any such <br /> <br />applications as may be filed before said deadline. The <br /> <br />filing fee for each candidate for the office of Commissioner <br /> <br />is hereby established at Fifty Dollais ($50.00). The filing <br /> <br />~ <br />., <br /> <br />fees shall be used to defray the cost of the election, and <br /> <br />said fees shall be: pro-rated and any surplus shall be <br /> <br />refunded to s~id candidates. <br /> <br />Section 10. Said election shall be held in accordance <br /> <br />with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of La Porte, <br /> <br />and the general ele.ction laws of the State of Texas governing <br /> <br />general and m:unicipal elections, so far as same may be <br /> <br />applicable thereto. <br /> <br />Section 11. Each and every provision, paragraph, <br /> <br />sentence and clause of this Ordinance has been separately <br /> <br />considered and passed by the City Commission of the City of <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />La Porte, Texas, and each said provision would have been <br /> <br />separately passed without any other provision, and if any <br />
