. . ORDINANCE NO. 829-A -. .......... ~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 829, "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING WATER AND SEWER SERVICE RATES; . . . ", AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1.' Section 1 of Ordinance 829, which was passed and approved by the City Commission 'of the City of La Porte on October 6, 1969, is hereby amended, and shall hereafter read as follows, to-wit: "Section l~ Water service charges. liThe following rates per month shall be charged for water . service furnished by the City through meters in every instance in which a different charge is not expressly and clearly provided for elsewhere in thi~ Ordinance: '''(a) Each single-family dwelling unit individually metered for the consumption of ,water shall be charged for water service furnished by the City, the fOllow,ing rates: "For the first 2,000 gallons, or part thereof $1.00 per 1,000 gallons "For the next 3,000 gallons, $0.85 per 1,000 gallons "For the next 5,000 gallons, $0.65 per 1,000 ,gallons "For the, next 40,000 gallons, $0.50 per 1,000 gallons "For the next 50,000 gallons $0.40 per 1,000 gallons . "For allover the first 100,000 gallons $0.30 per 1,000 gallons liThe minimum monthly charge shall be Two Dollars ($2.00), for wpich 2,000 gallons of water may be used. ".(b) Co:nunercial connections shall pay for water service furnished by the City through meters, at the same rates as single-family dwelli~gs.
