. . OROINANCE NO. 831 .' AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DETERMINING THE AREA ,INCLUDED IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE AS OF JANUARY 1, 1969; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE 'DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: , Section 1. That E~gar Barlow, ,a Texas R~gistered Professional Engineer, ,has been employed by the City of La Por.te to compute and determine the total corporate area of the City of La Porte as of the 1st day of January, A.D. 1969. That ,the said Edgar Barlow has completed such determination and 'computations, ',and has filed his Certificate with the . City Clerk of the City of La Porte, which said Certificate is attached hereto as "Exhibit A," incorporated by reference herein, and made an part hereof for all purposes. Se~ction 2. The Ci,ty Commission of the City of La Porte herepy finds, ,determines and declares that said Certificate is in all respects accurate and correct, ,and that the total corp9rate area of the City of La porte as of the 1st d~y of January, A.D. 1969, ,comprised a total of seven thousand two hundred sixty-seve~ (7,267) acres. , Section- 3. The City Commission of the City of La Port~ hereby further finds, determines, and declares that the City of La Porte has not annexed any territory to the City since .. June 15, 1964, the date on which Ordinance No., 700 of the City of La Porte w~s passed ~nd approved on final readi~g. The City Commission therefore finds, determines and declares that the City of La Porte may annex additional territory, not in excess of thirty per cent (30%) of its total area as of the 1st day of January, A.D. 1969, or an area not to exceed two thousand one hundred e~ghty (2,180) acres, duri~g calendar year 1969.
