AN ORDINANCE: DECLARING THE INTENTION, ,OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN TERRITORY; CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING AT WHICH ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHALL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO 'aE HEARD; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF SUCH HEARING BY THE ,PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIvE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of LaPorte hereby dec,laJ;es its intention to institute annexation proceed- . i~gs" ,to annex the following describ.ed territory to the City of La Porte by. the pass~ge of an ordinance of annexation extendi~g the general, corporate limits of the City of La Porte for all purpqses to include within such territory all of the followi~g described territory now situated within the exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of La Porte. As used herein, .the ,term extraterritorial jurisdiction shall have the same meani~g ascribed to it as is ascribed to it in the Municipal Annexation Act of 1963, compiled as Article 970a, Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes: BEGINNING at a point on the present city limit line of the City of La Porte, ,at the intersection of the North bank of Little ,Cedar Creek (also known as Little Cedar Bayou) and the East right-of-way line of State Highw~y 146 (also known' as the La ~orte-Seabrook Road, also known as Broadway Street); .' THENCE in a Southerly direction along the East right-of-way line of said State Highway 146, to an intersection with ,the North boundary line of Pine Bluff Addition, for a point for corner; THENCE in an Easterly direction along the North boundary line of said pine Bluff Addition, same being the North boundary line of "Bayshore Municipal Utility District, ,Tr.act No. 1", ,as described in Article 8280-268, V.A.T.S." to an intersection with the West shoreline of Galveston Bay, for' a point for corner.; . THENCE in a gener,a1ly Northerly direction alo~g 'and following the meanders of the West shoreline .of Galveston Bay to the intersection of the West ,shoreline of GalvestonB,ay and the South bank of Little Cedar Creek, for a point for corner; THENCE in a Northerly direc,tion across the mouth of Little Ced~r Creek to the point of intersection of the North bank of Little Cedar Creek and the West shoreline of Galveston Bay, for a point for corner;
