M. Jones Survey, <br />Abs. 482, for a point for corner; <br /> <br />THENCE in a No+therly direction along the East <br />line of the W. M. Jones Survey, Abs. 482, to an <br />intersection with the North right-of-way line of <br />Spencer Highway, for a point for corner; <br /> <br />THENCE in a Westerly direction along the North <br />right-of~way line of Spencer Highway to the PLACE <br />OF BEGINNING, said parcel containing 1,410 acres, <br />more or less, a plat of said territory being attached <br />to this Ordinance as "Exhibit A," incorporated by <br />reference herein, and made a part hereof for all <br />purposes. <br /> <br />Section 5. Should any section or part of this ordinance <br /> <br />be held unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, or the applica- <br />tion thereof ineffective or inapplicable as to any territory, <br /> <br />such unconstitutionality, illegality, invalidity or ineffec- <br /> <br />tiveness of such section or part shall in nowise affect, <br /> <br />impair or invalidate the remaining portion or portions thereof, <br /> <br />but as to such remaining portion or portions the same shall <br /> <br />be and remain in full force and effect; and should this ordi- <br /> <br />nance for any reason be ineffective as to any part of the area <br /> <br />hereby'annexed'to the City of La Porte, such ineffectiveness <br /> <br />of this ordinance as to any such part or parts of any such <br /> <br />area shall not affect the effectiveness of this ordinance <br /> <br />as to all of the remainder of such area, and the City Commission <br /> <br />hereby declares it to be its purpose to annex to the City of <br /> <br />La Porte every part of the area described in Section 4 of this <br /> <br />ordinance, regardle~s of whether any other part of such <br /> <br />described area is hereby effectively annexed to the City. <br /> <br />Provided, further, that if there is included within the general <br /> <br />description of territory set out in Section 4,of this ordinance <br /> <br />to be hereby annexed to the City of La Porte any lands or area <br />which are presently part of and included with~n the limits of <br />the City of La Porte, or which are presently part of and <br />included within the limits of any other City, Town, or Vill~ge, <br />or which are not within the City of La Porte's jurisdiction to <br />annex, the same is hereby excluded and excepted from the <br />
