On <br /> <br />September 12, 1988, the City Council of the City of La Porte passed <br /> <br />and approved Ordinance No. 1602, an ordinance approving a Service <br />Plan for the extension of municipal services to the area comprising <br /> <br />the Bayshore Municipal Utility District. The proposed Service Plan <br />shall be made available for public inspection and explained to the <br /> <br />inhabitants of the area to be annexed at the public hearings. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />calls two (2) public hearings at which all interested persons shall <br /> <br />have an opportunity to be heard upon such proposal to annex the <br /> <br />territory described above, which two (2) public hearings shall be <br /> <br />held as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />(1) In the Bayshore Elementary School Cafetorium, 301 Bay <br />Oaks, La Porte, Texas, at 7:00 P.M., on November 7, 1988, <br />and <br /> <br />(2) in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 604 W. Fairmont <br />Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 6:00 P.M., on November 14, <br />1988. <br /> <br />Section 4. The annexation proceeding of which notice of <br /> <br />intention to annex is given by this Ordinance shall be instituted <br /> <br />not less than twenty (20) days nor more than forty (40) days <br /> <br />subsequent to such public hearings. <br />Section 5. The City Secretary of the City of La Porte is <br /> <br />hereby directed to cause notice of such public hearings to be given <br /> <br />by publication of this Ordinance in the Bayshore Sun, a newspaper <br />having general circulation in the City of La Porte and in the <br /> <br />territory proposed to be annexed, such publication to be made at <br /> <br />least once, not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) <br />days prior to the date of such public hearings. Additional notice <br /> <br />by certified mail shall be given to railroad companies serving the <br /> <br />city and on the city's tax roll where the right-of-way thereof is <br /> <br />included in the territory to be annexed. <br /> <br />Section 6. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, <br /> <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was <br />posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the <br />City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as <br />
