<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 93- 1945 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE ON NOVEMBER 2, 1993, FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING FOR <br />OR AGAINST A PROPOSITION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THAT PORTION OF <br />LITTLE CEDAR BAYOU PARK SITUATED EAST OF OLD HIGHWAY 146; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there was held in the City of La Porte on the 2nd day <br />of November, 1993, an election for the purpose of voting for or <br />against a proposition authorizing the sale of that portion of Little <br />Cedar Bayou Park situated east of Old Highway 146; and <br />WHEREAS, there were cast at said election the following number <br />of votes: <br /> <br />"FOR" - 532 <br /> <br />"AGAINST" - 565 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />section 1. That said election was duly called and notice <br />thereof given in accordance with law; that said election was held in <br />the manner required by law; that due returns of said election have <br />been made by the proper officers; that said returns have been <br />canvassed by the City Council of the City of La Porte; that said <br />election has resulted in the failure of the proposition authorizing <br />the sale of that portion of Little Cedar Bayou Park situated east of <br />Old Highway 146. <br /> <br />section 2. <br /> <br />The City Council officially finds, determines, <br /> <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was <br />posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the <br />City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as <br />required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas Revised <br />civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been open to the <br />public as required by law at all times during which this ordinance <br />
