<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~ .. <br />~CUJ[J2YV <br /> <br />TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE <br />RESOLUTION No. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League has established a good working <br />relationship with the Texas Railroad Commission on the issue of harmonization of local <br />rules and regulations governing propane gas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, members of the Texas Municipal League and the Texas Railroad <br />Commission have formed a task force toward that end to assure the health, safety and <br />welfare of the citizens of Texas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League and the Texas Railroad Commission <br />work closely with fire departments, fire marshals, building inspectors, city managers and <br />law enforcement officials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League and the Texas Railroad Commission <br />have expressed their desire to promote greater efficiency in the regulation of propane <br />gas so as to reduce barriers to the economic development and economic growth of <br />propane gas as an alternative fuel; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League and the Texas Railroad Commission <br />have committed to a close working relationship to develop the best and most reasonable <br />standards for the storage and handling of propane gas throughout the state of Texas. <br /> <br />NOW, TIIEREFORE BE IT RESOL VED that the Texas Municipal League work <br />with the Texas Railroad Commission to encourage efforts and initiatives that promote <br />the use of enVironmentally friendly alternative fuels like propane that serve the greater <br />interests of all Texans through the reduction of unnecessary economic barriers; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOL YED that the Texas Municipal League member cities <br />and member municipalities endorse the adoption of ordinances that are consistent with <br />uniform fire codes and other nationally recognized fire protection standards that serve <br />to encourage greater economic growth, greater cooperation and hannony among propane <br />marketers, cities and fire protection officials in the Texas Municipal League and <br />throughout Texas. <br />
