<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1660 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3. "AIRPORT MANAGER" means the Director of Public Works, or <br />other individual appointed by the City Manager. The Airport <br />Manager is designated to oversee and manage the maintenance <br /> <br />and operations of the La Porte Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />4. "AIRPORT OPERATION(S)" means any take-off or landing <br /> <br />performed by an aircraft. <br /> <br />5. "AIR TRAFFIC" means aircraft operating in the air or on an <br />airport surface, exclusive of loadi~g ramps and parking <br /> <br />areas. <br /> <br />6. "BASE LEG" means that portion of the traffic pattern flown at <br />a right angle to the active runway off the approach end. The <br />base leg extends from the downwind. leg to the final approach. <br /> <br />7. "CROSSWIND LEG" means that portion of the traffic patt~rn <br />flown at a right angle to the active runway by turning from <br />the upwind leg. <br /> <br />8. "DISABLED (WRECKED) AIRCRAFT" means aircraft not certified as <br /> <br />air worthy, unless said aircraft is undergoing repairs or <br />inspection to meet requirements for re-certification. <br /> <br />9. "DOWNWIND LEG" means that portion of the traffic pattern <br />flown parallel to the active runway In the direction opposite <br />to landing. The downwind leg extends between the crosswind <br />leg and the base leg. <br /> <br />2 <br />
