<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 1794 , Page 2 <br /> <br />FALSE ALARM: the alarm system activates a signal indicating to the <br /> <br />Police the alarm system has been violated. Thereby causing a response by the <br /> <br />police when in fact a situation requiring a response does not exist; but this <br /> <br />definition does not include violent conditions of nature, nor does it include <br /> <br />other extraordinary circumstances not reasonably subject to control by the alarm <br /> <br />user. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.1 ALARM USER PERMITS REQUIRED; FEES; RENEWAL <br /> <br /> <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate an alarm <br /> <br /> <br />system without a valid alarm user permit. Violation of <br /> <br />this Section shall be a Class C Misdemeanor punishable <br /> <br />by a fine not to exceed $200.00. <br /> <br />(b) Each operating alarm system will have a designated person and <br /> <br />address named and listed on each permit as owner or conservator in <br /> <br />the event a citation is to be issued or a fine imposed or any other <br /> <br />legal notification should become necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />(c) Within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this <br /> <br /> <br />ordinance, alarm user permits are to be acquired from City Code <br /> <br /> <br />Enforcement Division. The initial registration and permit fee is <br /> <br /> <br />twenty five ($25.00) dollars. <br /> <br /> <br />(d) All alarm user permits will expire on the Thirtieth (30th) day of <br /> <br /> <br />September of each year and must be renewed not later than the fifth <br /> <br />(5th) day of October of each year with a renewable fee of five <br /> <br />($5.00) dollars per alarm per address. <br />(e) pre-existing Installations <br /> <br />All structures having a operating alarm in place on the effective <br /> <br /> <br />date of this ordinance shall register with the city Code Enforcement <br /> <br /> <br />Division. No initial registration and permit fee shall be required <br /> <br /> <br />on existing installations. <br />(f) If a business has one (1) or more alarm systems protecting two (2) <br /> <br />or more separate structures having different addresses, a separate <br /> <br />permit will be required for each structure. <br /> <br />Section 3.2 APPLICATION FOR ALARM PERMIT; EMERGENCY <br />NOTIFICATION AND REPORTING SERVICE INFORMATION <br />(a) Applications <br />Each application shall state the name, address and telephone number <br />
