Other materials are "safe" <br />only if they are not food additives or color additives as defined in Section <br />201(s) or (t) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as used. <br /> <br />Sanitization - effective bactericidal treatment by a process that <br />provides enough accumulative heat or concentration of chemicals for enough <br />time to reduce the bacterial count, including pathogens, to a safe level on <br />utensils and equipment. ' <br /> <br />Sealed - free of cracks or other o~enings that permit the entry or <br />passage of moisture. <br /> <br />Single-service articles - cups, containers, lids, ~losures, plates, <br />knives, forks, spoons, stirrers, paddles, straws, napkins, wrapping materials, <br />toothpicks and similar articles intended for o~e-time, one-person use and then <br />discarded. <br /> <br />Tableware - all multi-use eating and drinking utensils including flatware <br />(knives, forks and spoons). <br /> <br />Temporary food service establishment - a food service establishment that <br />operates at a fixed location for a period of time of not more than 14 <br />consecutive days in conjunction with a single event or celebration. <br /> <br />Utensil - any implement used in the storage, preparation, transportation, <br />or service of food. <br /> <br />S229.163 Food Care. <br /> <br />(a) Food Supplies. <br /> <br />(1) ~eneral. Food shall be in sound condition, free from spoilage, <br />filth, or other contamination and shall be safe for human consumption. Food <br />shall be obtained from sources that comply with all laws relating to food and <br />food labeling. The use of food in hermetically sealed containers that was not <br />prepared in a food processing establishment is prohibited. <br /> <br />(2) Special Requirements. <br /> <br />(A) Fluid milk and fluid milk products used or served shall be <br />pasteurized and shall meet the Grade A quality standards as established by law. <br />Dry milk and dry milk products shan be made from pasteurized milk and milk <br />products. <br />
