<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2005- nllJ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATION OF CITY OF LA PORTE <br />REINVESTMENT ZONE "A"; MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte has heretofore, on the 14th day of <br /> <br />February, 2005, adopted Ordinance No. 2005-P01 , an Ordinance establishing guidelines and <br /> <br />criteria governing tax abatement agreements by the City of La Porte. A public hearing was held <br /> <br />before the City Council of the City of La Porte on February 14, 2005, pursuant to notice as <br /> <br />required by Section 312.201, Texas Tax Code, which notice was published not later than the 7th <br /> <br />day before the date of the hearing in the Bayshore Sun, a newspaper having general circulation in <br /> <br />the City of La Porte, a true and correct copy of said published notice being attached hereto as <br /> <br />Exhibit "A" and incorporated by reference herein; and pursuant to notice delivered in writing not <br /> <br />later than the 7th day before hearing, to the presiding officer of the La Porte Independent School <br /> <br />District; to the County Judge of Harris County, Texas presiding officer of the Harris County <br /> <br />Commissioners Court, on behalf of Harris County, the Harris County Flood Control District, the <br /> <br />Port of Houston Authority of Harris County, and the Harris County Department of Education; <br /> <br />and to the presiding officer of the San Jacinto College District; being all of the taxing units <br /> <br />included in the proposed reinvestment zone. A copy of the notices to the La Porte Independent <br /> <br />School District and Harris County Commissioners Court; and the San Jacinto College District, <br /> <br />are attached hereto as Exhibits "B", "C", and "D", respectively, incorporated by reference herein, <br /> <br />and made a part hereof for all purposes. <br /> <br />Section 2. Specifically, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the City <br /> <br />Council of the City of La Porte finds, determines and declares that the subject property would be <br />
