County, State, Federal Agencies and Task Forces and consequently receives some asset <br />sharing from these agencies. The La Porte Police Department is subject to receive forfeiture <br />awards in money from three primary sources, State, Department of Justice (Federa]), and <br />Treasury Department (ATF). Upon award the moneys are deposited in Account 00]-0000-202- <br />08-03 the Police Seizure Account and the Police Department tracks the separate funds at the <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />After the Chief had the accounts audited and the rules regarding the three sources of funds <br />reviewed it was agreed that the Seizure Account should become three separate accounts, State, <br />Federal, and ATF and thereby tracked through the HTE accounting system. This accomplishes <br />severa] things. First, all of the monetary awards will be deposited in appropriate accounts based <br />on the source of the awards. Second, the funds will be tracked within each account within the <br />HTE system to facilitate any audit by the contributing source.
