<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94- 05 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTB IN A <br />PURCHASING PROGRAM 01' THE GENERAL SERVICES COMKISSION OF THE STATE <br />01' TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EpFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of La' Porte, a political <br />subdivision of the State of Texas, pursuant to the authority granted <br />by Sections 271.081-271.083 Local Government Code, V. T . C .A, as <br />amended, and section 3.04 of the General Services Act (Article 601b, <br />V.T.C.S.), desires to participate in described purchasing programs <br />of the General Services commission, and in the opinion that <br />participation in these pro9rams will be highly benef~cial to the <br />taxpayers through the ant~cipated savings to be realized; now, <br />therefore be it <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />section 1. That the City of La Porte requests the General <br />Services commission to include its stated needs on the Commission's <br />term contracts and scheduled purchases, whereby Louis Rigby, <br />Director of Administrative Services, as Agent of Record/Authorized <br />Individual, and Susan Kelley, Purchasing Agent, second Authorized <br />Individual, are authorized and directed to sign and deliver all <br />necessary requests and other documents in connection therewith for <br />and on behalf of the City of La Porte. The City of La Porte <br />acknowledges its obligation to pay participation fees established by <br /> <br />the commission. <br /> <br />section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City council was <br />posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the <br />City of La Porte, Texas for the time required by law preceding this <br />meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, <br />Texas Revised civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has <br />been open to the public as required by law at all times during which <br />this resolution and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, <br />
