Their recommendation for adoption of the new code edition was forwarded to City Council and the ordinance was passed at the June 27, 2005 meeting. The language in that previously passed ordinance included a delayed implementation date of September I, 2005. The Board has now had an opportunity to review the local electrical amendments and their recommendation is outlined in their memo included with this packet. In keeping with past practices, the new proposed ordinance includes a sixty (60) delayed implementation date. The ordinance being presented for Council's consideration includes an effective date of November 12, 2005. This delay will allow for mail notification to electrical contractors as well as required amendments to handouts for the public, staff paperwork and the city website. Staff is requesting this item be placed on the consent agenda. Action Reauired bv Council: Consider accepting the Building Codes Appeals Board recommendation and pass the ordinance adopting the local electrical amendments with an implementation date of November 12,2005.
