ORDINANCE NO. 2003- ~(,/~ ' AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONDITIONAL OFFBR OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION OF AN BMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THB CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: Section 1. The City Council hereby approves and authorizes the extension of a conditional offer of employment to ~ 5flJULLe , as the City Manager of the City of La Porte. The conditional offer of emplo~nent and appointment as City Manager of the City of La Porte, shall be conditioned upon negotiation of an employment agreement between the City of La Porte and the City Manager, and the satisfactory completion of pre-employment screenings. Section 2. The city Manager selection committee of City Council is hereby authorized to negotiate the terms and provisions of an employment agreement with /!J€fJRtI.. 8. Fbl/U LL(; as City Manager of the City of La Porte. Upon satisfactory completion of pre-employment screenings and execution of the employment agreement, the City Council shall consider an ordinance approving the employment agreement and making the formal appointment of f)~ ~ fa. fJ FfRl€U~ as City Manager of the City of La Porte. Section 3. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as
