<br />e e <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004- a~o5"" A <br /> <br />-"\ ~~{ c\ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING MEMBERS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, <br />APPOINTING A DIRECTOR OF CIVIL SERVICE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY <br />CLAUSE, CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />ratifies and confirms the appointment by the City Manager, of Keith <br />Trainer, as a Member of the Civil Service Commission of the City of <br />La Porte, for a term expiring on August 31, 2005, or until his <br /> <br />successor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />ratifies and confirms the appointment by the City Manager, of Bobby <br />Powell, as a Member of the Civil Service Commission of the City of <br />La Porte, for a term expiring on August 31, 2006, or until his <br /> <br />successor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />ratifies and confirms the appointment by the City Manager, of <br /> <br />Janice Lawler, as a Member of the civil Service commission of the <br /> <br />City of La Porte, for a term expiring on August 31, 2007, or until <br /> <br />her successor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br /> <br />ratifies and confirms the appointment by the City Manager, of <br /> <br />Sherri Davis-Sampson, as Director of civil Service, to serve until <br /> <br />her successor shall have been duly appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />Section s. If any section, sentence, phrase, clause or any <br /> <br />part of any section, sentence, phrase, or clause, of this ordinance <br /> <br />shall, for any reasons, be held invalid, such invalidity shall not <br />
