<br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City of La Porte <br />Established 1892 <br /> <br />October 20, 2003 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor Nonnan Malone and City Council <br />City of La Porte <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Malone: <br /> <br />The La Porte Planning and Zoning Conunission, during a regular meeting on October 16, 2003, held a <br />public hearing to consider a Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU 03-003. The applicant, Cyndi McFalls <br />ofRH No. 12, Ltd., seeks approval to allow a Mini-storage facility along 1000 Block of South 2nd Street. <br /> <br />After careful consideration, the Planning and Zoning Conunission voted to recommend that City Council <br />consider approval of Special Conditional Use Pe~t #SCU 03-003 with the following conditions in place: <br /> <br />1. SCUP#03-o03 is specifically limited to the mini-storage/warehouse as defined in SICo #4225. <br />2. The applicant shall file an application with the City to close alley in Block 1790 <br />30 The property along West "f' Street adjacent to "R-l" district and existing residential across South <br />2nd Street shall be screened and landscaped in compliance with required screening and landscaping <br />provisions per Section 106-444(a) of the Ordinanceso <br />40 All property owned by the applicant including properties to the east and south need to be replatted. <br />50 Provide an irrigation system to ensure that all landscaping and screening is properly maintained by <br />the owner/developer. <br />6. Enhance the building fa~de so that it blends with the existing residential to be architecturally and <br />aesthetically pleasing. <br />70 Facility lighting shall be arranged as to reflect the light away from the adjacent properties. <br />8. Retain easement for public utilities with understanding that any paved area over utilities will be <br />the responsibility of the developer. <br />9. On-site detention will be provided for the proposed development. <br />10. Maximum lot coverage will not exceed 40%. <br />11.
