City of La Porte <br />Established 1892 <br /> <br />December 30, 2002 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor Norman Malone and City Council <br />City of La Porte <br /> <br />Re: Rezone Request #R02-002 <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Malone: <br /> <br />The La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission, during its December 19, 2002, <br />meeting, held a public hearing to consider Rezone Request #R02-002. The Port <br />of Houston Authority seeks to rezone approximately 20.7 acres of land located <br />along East Barbour's Cut Boulevard, further described as lots 17-32, block 438, <br />439, lots 1-16 of block 974, lots 1-32 of blocks 975 thru 979, and adjoining alleys <br />within these blocks and portions of 10th, 11th, 12th Avenues, Bownell, Nugent, <br />Holmes, and Carroll streets out of the Johnson Hunter League, Abstract 35, City <br />of La Porte, Harris County, Texas. The applicant seeks to have the property <br />rezoned from Business Industrial (BI) to Planned Unit Development (PUD). The <br />purpose of rezoning is to allow development of truck pre-check facility at this site. <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission, by unanimous vote, has recommended <br />approval of Rezone Request #R02-002. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Betty T.
