<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />applicable pretreatment standards or requirements, or in other case when the <br />imposition of mass limitations is appropriate. <br /> <br />2.7 National Pretreatment Standards (NPS) <br /> <br />A. If more stringent NPS exist for certain categories of industries or if more <br />stringent NPS are promulgated for certain categories of industries by the <br />USEP A, the more stringent national standard will apply to the permittee. <br /> <br />B. Unless exception is granted by the City, the public sanitary sewer system <br />shall be used by all persons discharging : <br />1. Wastewater <br />2. Industrial Waste <br />3. Polluted Liquids <br /> <br />C. Unless authorized by the TNRCC, no person may deposit or discharge any <br />waste included in the paragraph above on public or private property or <br />into or adjacent to any: <br />1. Natural Outlet <br />2. Watercourse <br />3. Storm Sewer <br />4. Other area within the jurisdiction of the City. <br /> <br />The Director shall verify prior to discharge that wastes authorized to be discharged will <br />receive suitable treatment within the provisions of laws, regulations, ordinances, rules <br />and orders of federal, state, and local governments. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. PRETREATMENT OF WASTEWATER <br /> <br />3.1 Pretreatment Facilities <br /> <br />Industrial users shall provide necessary wastewater treatment as required to <br />comply with this ordinance arid shall achieve compliance with all categorical <br />pretreatment standards, local limits and the prohibitions set out in Section 2.1 <br />above within the time limitations specified by the EPA, the State, or the Director. <br /> <br />Any facilities required to pre-treat wastewater to a level acceptable to the Director <br />shall be operated, and maintained at the industrial waste user's expense. Detailed <br />plans showing the pretreatment facilities and operating procedures shall be <br />submitted to the Director for review, and shall be acceptable to the Director <br />before construction of the facility. The review of such plans and operating <br />procedures will in no way relieve the industrial user from the responsibility of <br />modifying the facility as necessary to produce an acceptable discharge to the <br />POTW under the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />3.2 Additional Pretreatment Measures <br /> <br />14 <br />
