<br />Building Codes Ad Hoc Committee <br />Minutes of December 3, 2003 <br /> <br />Members Present: Tommy Moser, Tom Campbell, Tom Stringer, Ed Yung, Stanley <br />Briers, Ron Holt, Carlos Smith, Mike Clausen <br /> <br />Members Absent: Robert Ortiz, Bill White <br /> <br />City Staff Present: Interim Planning Director Nick Finan, Chief Building Official <br />Debbie Wilmore, Sherry Jennings, Inspection Services Coordinator <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mike Clausen called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M. <br /> <br />II. RATIFY AND VOTE ON APPOINTING PERMANENT CHAIRMAN <br />MIKE CLAUSEN <br /> <br />Tom Campbell made a motion to ratify and vote for Mike Clausen as permanent <br />Chairman of the Committee. Second by Tommy Moser. Motion carried <br /> <br />III. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 25, 2003 <br /> <br />Motion made by Tom Stringer to approve the minutes as distributed. Second by <br />Tommy Moser. The motion carried. <br /> <br />IV. DISCUSSION ON THE UNIFORM PLUMBING (C3) AND <br />INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING (ICC) CODES <br /> <br />Tom Campbell began his presentation by describing his plumbing <br />background/experience. He provided a slide presentation and discussed some <br />differences between the Uniform Plumbing Code and National Plumbing Code <br />Handbook. When asked about why he was using the National Handbook, he <br />explained that it was incorporated into the International Plumbing Code. Areas <br />discussed included waste venting, wet and dry venting, and studer vents (air <br />admittance valves). There was also some discussion on copper and cpvc pipes. <br /> <br />) <br />
