CONSIDER ADDRESSING STAFF AS A RESOURCE AS REQUESTED <br />BY THE AD HOC COMMITTEE FOR THE PURPOSE OF QUESTIONS <br />AND CLARIFICATION ON THE EXISTING AND PROPOSED <br />BUILDING RELATED CODES <br /> <br />Chairman Bill White conducted a round table discussion with questions directed <br />to Debbie Wilmore and Mark Huber. Some of the topics for questions and <br />answers were installation requirements on water heaters, cost and number of <br />books, benefit of updating codes, fire ratings and certifications of staff <br /> <br />Also, Tom Campbell distributed a letter from the City of Houston identifying the <br />plumbing code used. Bill White clarified the fact the Board, rather than this <br />committee, will have the authority to consider/recommend code amendments to <br />Council. <br /> <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. CLARIFICATION ON COMMITTEE MEMBERS MEETING TO <br />REVIEW VARIOUS CODE BOOKS (SUB-COMMITTEES) <br /> <br />Debbie Wilmore distributed a memo written by Assistant City Attorney <br />John Armstrong. He advises that subcommittee meetings be posted 72 <br />hours before they occur, <br />As requested at the last Committee meeting, Debbie provided a reference <br />comparison document to the Committee. She explained due to limited <br />time only (3) chapters of the building codes were addressed, <br /> <br />B. DISCUSS SEQUENCE AND PROCESS FOR REVIEW OF CODE <br />BOOKS AND INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE CODE GROUPS <br /> <br />Committee members discussed reviewing the building code this week and <br />returning to the next meeting with their findings. The following 2 weeks <br />would be utilized to review the plumbing and mechanical codes in the <br />same manner. <br /> <br />Due to the holidays, Tom Campbell made the motion to meet next <br />Tuesday, November 25,2003 at 7 p, M, to discuss the building codes <br />only. Second by Tommy Moser, Motion carried, <br /> <br />After further discussion Tommy Moser made the motion to include in the <br />second half of the following meetings to work on their suggestions of how <br />the new Board should be structured. Second by Tom Campbell. Motion <br />carried. <br />
