<br />F. Define a day as eight hours for purposes of the statute referring to sick leave and <br />vacation leave in civil service cities. <br /> <br />G. Provide six additional months of probation for participants attending an academy, <br />whether they are certified or not, in civil service cities. <br /> <br />H. Allow a ranking officer other than the department head to deliver a letter of <br />suspension in civil service cities. <br /> <br />I. Reduce the administrative burdens of Chapter 143 of the Local Government Code <br />(:fire/police civil service). <br /> <br />J. Increase local parks fimding to $25 million, or more as appropriate. <br /> <br />K. Enact the recommendations of the State Park Advisory Committee as published on <br />August 24, 2006. (please see Appendix A, attached.) <br /> <br />/ <br />N. Oppose legislation that would: <br /> <br />A. Erode the authority of a city to impose a civil penalty on the owner of a vehicle if the <br />vehicle's license plate is photographed while the vehicle is running a red light. <br /> <br />B. Change or delete any of the current uniform election dates. ' <br /> <br />C. Impose additional state costs or fees in municipal court. <br /> <br />D. Negatively affect the ability of cities to investigate pawn shops and stolen property, <br />such as legislation that would require mandatory holds. <br /> <br />E. Expand the municipal court collection assistance program to either: (l) include more <br />than the 24 cities that are currently affected; or (2) require more of the cities currently <br />affected. <br /> <br />F. Pennit waiver of appearance at a municipal court trial. <br /> <br />G. Substantively change or expand the scope of the current disease presumption law. <br /> <br />H. Impose expanded collective bargaining rights. <br /> <br />I. Expand the current meet and confer law, <br /> <br />J. Seek to limit management rights as they relate to personnel management. <br /> <br />K. Limit cities' ability to appeal the decisions of third-party hearing examiners in civil <br />service cities. <br /> <br />1.
