This study along with improved Light Detection and Ranging <br />(LIDAR) data gives a more appropriate boundary for special flood hazard areas. FEMA released <br />these maps for review in 2004 and after modifications as well as legal rulings have mandated the <br />use of these maps effective June 18, 2007.
