<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE <br />ELIGIBLE BLIGHTED AREA <br /> <br />The following goals and objectives for the City I S economi- <br />cally distressed areas will be applicable to the redevelopment <br />of the el ig ible bl igh ted area in the use of IRB IS. Generally, <br /> <br />the overall objectives are as follows: <br /> <br />(1) To promote the present and prospective health, <br />safety, rights to gainful employment and <br />general welfare of the people of the City <br />of La Porte and the State of Texas. <br /> <br />(2) To promote the continued existence, develop- <br />ment and expansion of commerce and industry <br />essential to the economic growth of the <br />City of La Porte and the full employment, <br />welfare and prosperity of its citizens. <br /> <br />(3) To encourage the economic growth and stability <br />of the City by increasing and stabilizing <br />employment opportunities, significantly <br />increasing and stabilizing the property tax <br />base and promoting commerce within the City <br />and the state. <br /> <br />(4) To encourage employment of the inhabitants of <br />the EBA by encouraging employers to locate <br />projects which will employ such persons in or <br />adjacent to the EBA. <br />
