. . e RESOLUTION NO. 83- 24 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION WITHIN THE GREATER HARRIS COUNTY 9-1-1 EMERGENCY NETWORK1 FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW 1 AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF, WHEREAS, the City of La Porte is a City that lies wholly or partly within Harris CountY1 and WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast by the voters of the -- City of La Porte, in the November 8, 1983 election, as found in the Final Official Canvass of the Election Records of Harris County, Texas, County Clerk's Office (Film Code No. 738-55- 0084 through 738-55-0097), were in favor of confirming the creation of the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network and authorizing a 9-1-1 emergency service fee to be charged 1 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of La Porte: Section 1. That the matters and facts recited in the preamble of this Resolution are found and determined to be true and correct. Section 2. That the City of La Porte become a participating ., jurisdiction of the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network pursuant to the provisions of the 9-1-1 Emergency Number Act with all the rights, privileges and duties as stated in said Act, particularly the charging and collecting of the 9-1-1 emergency service fee according to the terms of said Act. Section 3. It is understood that once confirmed, the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network will be subject to public review every three (3) years, pursuant to Section 15 of the 9-1-1 Emergency Number Act, and that the con- e tinued existence or dissolution of the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network will be effected only by the terms of said Act.
