<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004- ~ ~DI <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING A MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD 1 ESTABLISHING <br />THE TERMS OF OFFICE AND QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS, FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />The city council of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />hereby creates the Main Street Advisory Board, a new Board <br />required by the Texas Historical Commission, whose mission shall <br /> <br />be to help revitalize Historic Downtown La Porte. The Board shall <br /> <br />consist of eleven ( 11) members, who need not be residents of the <br />City of La Porte. The members shall be appointed by city Council <br />for staggered three (3 ) year terms. positions 1, 2, and 3, shall <br />expire August 31, 2005. positions 4, 5, 6, and 7, shall expire <br />August 31, 2006. positions 8, 9, 10, and 11, shall expire August <br /> <br />31, 2007. Ex Officio members shall include the city of La Porte's <br /> <br />Main Street Coordinator; the City Manager of the city of La Porte <br />or her designee; and the Manager of the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber <br /> <br />of Commerce. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />The Board shall elect its Chairman, Vice <br /> <br />Chairman, and Secretary. The, Board shall meet when called by its <br /> <br />Chairman, or the City's Main Street Coordinator. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Council <br /> <br />officially <br /> <br />finds, <br /> <br />determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice <br /> <br />of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City <br />Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City <br />Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this <br />meeting, as required by the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Texas <br />
