<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 85- 10 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION CONCERNING NOMINATION OF A DIRECTOR TO THE LA PORTE <br />AREA WATER AUTHORITY, FOR APPOINTMENT BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of La Porte requests <br /> <br />representatives of the City of Shoreacres, the City of Morgan's <br /> <br />Point, the City of Seabrook, the Bayshore Municipal Utility <br /> <br />District, and Harris County Water Control and Improvement District <br /> <br />No. 50, acting jointly, to nominate one person, for appointment <br /> <br />by the City Council of the City of La Porte as a Director, to <br /> <br />serve on the La Porte Area Water Authority Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Provided, that said person reside outside the city limit of the <br /> <br />City of La Porte, but within the boundaries of the La Porte Area <br /> <br />Water Authority. Provided further, that said nomination take place <br /> <br />only upon the acquisition by said La Porte Area Water Authority <br /> <br />of territory outside the city limits of the City of La Porte, in <br /> <br />which the person nominated by said City of Shoreacres, City of <br /> <br />Morgan's Point, City of Seabrook, Bayshore Municipal Utility Dis- <br /> <br />trict, and Harris County Water Control and Improvement District <br /> <br />No. 50, acting jointly, shall reside, in accordance with the En- <br /> <br />abling Act of the Authority, Chapter 729, Acts 67th Legislature, <br /> <br />Regular Session, 1981. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br /> <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the <br /> <br />date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council <br /> <br />was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall <br /> <br />of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, <br /> <br />as required by the Open Meetings Law, Article 6252-17, Texas <br /> <br />Revised Civil Statutes Annotated; and that this meeting has been <br /> <br />open to the public as required by law at all times during which <br /> <br />this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, <br /> <br />considered and formally acted upon. <br /> <br />The City Council further <br />
