<br />\ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 85-2 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE COOPERATIVE TIRE PRO- <br />CUREMENT PROGRAM OF THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COMMIS- <br />SION. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte, Texas, <br /> <br />pursuant to the authority granted by Article 664-7, Vernon's Texas <br /> <br />Civil Statutes, as amended, desires to participate in certain below <br /> <br />described purchasing programs of the State Purchasing and General <br /> <br />Services Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said City Council is of the opinion that parti- <br /> <br />cipation in these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers <br /> <br />of this City through the anticipated savings to be realized; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> <br />LA PORTE OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City Council of the City of La Porte <br /> <br />does hereby request the State Purchasing and General Services Commis- <br /> <br />sion to include its stated need for Contract Class No. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Cooperative Tire Procurement Contract, on the Commission's annual <br /> <br />contracts for those items, whereby the City of La Porte may be allowed <br /> <br />to purchase those items from the annual contract in question; and <br /> <br />that Jack Owen, the City Manager of the City of La Porte, is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests <br /> <br />and other documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of the <br /> <br />City of La Porte. <br />Section 2.
