<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />5.00 GENERAL STANDARDS FOR SUBDIVISIONS AND DEVELOPMENTS <br />A. La Porte Street Classification System <br />1. General: The street pattern of a city should provide adequate <br />circulation within the city while discouraging through traffic within local <br />neighborhoods. This may be accomplished by providing thoroughfares spaced <br />at approximately one-mile intervals and collector streets within neighborhoods <br />space at about half-mile intervals to link local streets to the thoroughfare <br />network. <br />5.01 GENERAL STREET STANDARDS <br />A. MINIMUM WIDTHS: Public or private streets shall have a minimum <br />pavement width of 28 feet. Public or private alleys shall have a minimum <br />pavement width of 20 feet. <br />B, THOROUGHFARE EXTENSIONS: Right of way widths for thoroughfare <br />extensions shall be as indicated in the PICM along the entire frontage of the tract <br />being developed. Where the existing dedicated right of way width fronting the <br />adjacent property is less than shown in the PICM, a transition zone of 300 feet of <br />frontage of the new development shall be provided between the existing and new <br />right of ways. <br />C. CONTINUATION OF ADJOINING STREETS: The arrangement of <br />streets in new developments shall make provisions for the appropriate <br />continuation of existing streets from adjoining properties. <br />D. FUTURE PROJECTIONS OF STREETS: Where adjoining areas are not <br />developed, but may be developed, the arrangement of streets in a new <br />
