<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-09 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE REQUESTING <br />THAT LA PORTE REMAIN WHOLLY WITHIN HARRIS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />PRECINCT TWO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte and Harris County Precinct Two <br />have always maintained a good working relationship; and <br />WHEREAS, Harris County Precinct Two has always been responsive <br />to the needs of the City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, Harris County Precinct Two has developed a very <br />successful program for Senior citizens which would be in jeopardy <br />if La Porte was divided between two or more Harris County <br />Commissioner Precincts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte is currently involved in joint <br />projects with Harris County Precinct Two, and are working together <br />on planning their futures; and <br />WHEREAS, economic development and bay development are two <br />important issues of joint cooperation between La Porte and Harris <br />County Precinct Two; and <br />WHEREAS, any plan that would remove the City of La Porte from <br />Harris County Precinct Two would be detrimental to the development <br />of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE: <br />Section 1. THAT, for the above stated reasons, it would be <br />in the best interest of the City of La Porte to remain wholly <br />contained within Harris County Commissioner's Precinct Two. <br />Section 2.
