<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Resolution No. <br /> <br />87-2 , Page 2. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary, in order for the Authority to par- <br /> <br />ticipate in the construction of the Southeast Water Purification <br /> <br />Plant for the Authority to enter into a contract with the City <br /> <br />of Houston, including among other things, a breakdown of cost to <br /> <br />the Authority for its participation in the project, and a commit- <br /> <br />ment to the City of Houston of the quantity of water needed by <br /> <br />the La Porte Area Water Authority, and the peak time demands for <br /> <br />water of the La Porte Area Water Authority: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order for the Authority to commit to the City of <br /> <br />Houston its demand for potable surface water, together with its de- <br /> <br />mand for peak cycle quantities of water to be pumped to the Author- <br /> <br />rity from the southeast treatment plant, -it is necessary for the <br /> <br />Authority to ascertain from its customers their respective water <br /> <br />needs, specifically including those of the City of La Porte: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte is desirous in committing to <br /> <br />the La Porte Area Water Authority its quantity and peak demand <br /> <br />needs for potable surface water; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS: <br /> <br />section 1. That the City of La Porte publicly and formally <br /> <br />make commitment to the La Porte Area Water Authority, to become <br /> <br />a customer of the La Porte Area Water Authority, requiring 3.5 <br /> <br />MGD demand allocation factor, and 4.375 MGD pumping allocation <br /> <br />factor, with all terms being defined for purposes of this resolution <br /> <br />as they are defined in the contract sent to the City of Houston. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council officially finds, determines, <br /> <br />recites and declares that a sufficient written notice of the <br /> <br />date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council <br /> <br />was posted at a place convenient to the public at the City Hall <br /> <br />of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, <br />
