<br />116 + <br /> <br />112.000 <br /> <br />I 312 hours <br /> <br />Employees whose regularly scheduled workday is 24 hours and who were <br />hired prior to October 1,1984: <br /> <br />Years of Service Hours Accrued Vacation Leave <br /> Per Pay Period Per Year <br />6+ 13.846 360 hours <br /> <br />1. Employees eligible for vacation are strictly prohibited from accumulating <br />more than 1.5 times their annual accrual rate. Eligible employees are <br />encouraged to take vacation leave each year and will not be paid in lieu of <br />vacation leave. <br /> <br />2. Upon termination, employees will be paid accumulated vacation leave at a <br />rate based upon the employee's final hourly pay rate. <br /> <br />3. An employee on approved vacation leave who becomes ill during the <br />leave may have the vacation leave changed to sick leave for the period of <br />the illness. The employee shall be required to show a medical statement, <br />signed by a doctor, verifying the illness. <br /> <br />4. Vacation leave may be taken in 1-hour increments <br /> <br />5. An employee's designated beneficiary will be paid accumulated vacation <br />leave upon the death of the employee. <br /> <br />8. Sick Leave <br /> <br />Accrual <br /> <br />1. Regular full-time employees accrue sick leave at the rate of 4.62 hours per <br />pay period and 7.39 for 24-hour shift personnel. <br /> <br />2. Department Directors shall be responsible for reporting sick leave on <br />employees' time cards. <br /> <br />3. Regular full-time employees, hired prior to November 19, 1991, who <br />terminate shall receive, upon separation, payment for accrued but unused <br />sick leave, not to exceed 480 hours. Twenty-four hour shift personnel, <br />who terminate under the same conditions as above, shall be paid for <br />accrued but unused sick leave, not to exceed 768 hours. <br /> <br />4. Regular full-time employees hired after November 19, 1991, and who <br />terminate after 10 years of employment with the City, shall receive, upon <br />separation, payment for accrued but unused sick leave, not to exceed 480 <br /> <br />Employee Policies Handbook/Page 25 <br />
