CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, Councilpersons Guy <br />Sutherland, Mike Cooper, Bob McLaughlin, Alton Porter, Deetis Gay, Jack Maxwell and <br />Jerry Clarke <br /> <br />Members of City Council Absent: None <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City EmoJoyees Present: City Attorney Knox Askins, <br />Acting City Secretary Rhonda L. INVOCATION <br /> <br />Reverend David Cochran of La Porte Worship Center delivered the invocation. <br /> <br />3. CONSIDER APPROVING MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING APRIL 28, 1997 <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council person Cooper to approve the minutes of April 28. 1997. as <br />~resented. Seconded by Council person Maxwell. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />4. PRESENTATION <br /> <br />EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER - JANUARY, FEBRUARY, AND MARCH 1997 <br /> <br />Mayor Malone read a dossier and recognized Jesus Alfaro, Equipment Operator n as the <br />"Employee of the Quarter" for the months of January, February and March of 1997. The <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett and Solid Waste Superintendent Phil Webb presented <br />Mr. Alfaro with a plaque. <br />
