<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING, <br />AND PUBLIC HEARING <br />OF LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 11 1999 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6: 10 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Chuck Engelken, Howard Ebow, <br />Peter Griffiths, Alton Porter, Charlie Young, Jerry Clarke, and Mayor Norman <br />Malone. <br /> <br />Members of Council Absent: Council persons Guy Sutherland and Deotis Gay. <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong, City Secretary Martha Gillett, <br />Director of Planning Doug Kneupper, Police Chief Richard Reff, City Planner Masood <br />Malik, Assistant Finance Director Cynthia Alexander, Revenue Supervisor Kathy <br />Powell, Director of Administrative Services Louis Rigby and Clarke Askins. <br /> <br />Others Present: Spero Pomonis, Doyle Toups, Darryl Henderson, Dottie Kaminski, <br />Sue Gayle Kooken, Mr. Waters, and a number of citizens. <br /> <br />2. Councilperson Howard Ebow delivered the Invocation. <br /> <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the Regular Meeting, Workshop Meeting <br />and Public Hearing on September 27, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Engelken to approve the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting with corrections. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried. <br /> <br />Ayes: Engelken, Ebow, Griffiths, Porter, Young, Clarke, and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />4. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICA nONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />TAXPAYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL. <br /> <br />Darryl Henderson - 10534 North "L" Street - Mr. Henderson informed City Council <br />he was not pleased with recent services provided by the Inspection Division. <br /> <br />5. Proclamations: <br /> <br />Mayor Malone presented a Proclamation to Dottie Kaminski to proclaim October 25 - <br />29, 1999 as "Orange and White" week. <br />
