<br />EXHIBIT "0" <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br /> <br />Sec. 106-1. Definitions. <br /> <br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter shall have the meanings <br />ascribed to them in this section, except where the context indicates a different meaning: <br /> <br />Abutting means having property or district lines in common, or two objects in immediate contact. <br /> <br />Access means of approaching or entering a property, includes a right of passage to and from an <br />adjacent street. <br /> <br />Accessory structure means a detached, subordinate structure, the use of which is clearly <br />incidental and related to that of the principal structure or use of the land, and which is located in the same <br />lots as that of the principal structure or use. <br /> <br />Accessory use or building. An "accessory use or building" is one customarily a part thereof, which <br />is clearly incidental and secondary to permitted use and which does not change the character thereof, <br />including but not limited to garages, carports, bathhouses, greenhouses, tool sheds, or swimming pools. <br /> <br />Alley means a public way which, when at least 20 feet in width, may be used for vehicular service <br />access to the back or side of properties otherwise abutting on a street or highway. <br /> <br />Apartment. See dwelling, multi4amily. <br /> <br />Bed and breakfast means a building, the primary use of which is a single-family residence, in <br />which sleeping rooms are available for overnight rental, subject to the restrictions in section 106-744. <br /> <br />Boardinghouse means a building, built and/or used for residential purposes, where meals for five <br />or more persons are served for compensation. <br /> <br />Buildable area means the area of the building site left to be built upon after the required yard area <br />has been provided. <br /> <br />Building means any structure built for the support, shelter, or enclosure of persons, chattels or <br />property of any kind and which is affixed to the land. <br /> <br />Building codes means all building regulations referred to as the Southern Building Code <br />Congress International (S.B.C.C.I) as amended from time to time and adopted under the city Code of <br />Ordinances. <br /> <br />Building inspector means the designated chief building official of the city or his designated <br />representatives. Also see enforcing officer. <br /> <br />Building line. See setback line. <br /> <br />Building permit means an instrument in writing signed by the building inspector authorizing <br />described construction on a particular lot. Refer to the Southern Building Code Congress International <br />(S.B.C.C.I.) for additional information. <br /> <br />Business frontage means the linear measurement of the side of the building which contains the <br />primary entrance of the building. <br />
