<br />proposed the idea of this group forming a Mai'n Str~et association. The idea was accepted that day ~nd '
<br />each person ih 'attendance volunteered a contribution or'th~ir time and ta~ents. l filed the Not, for Profit
<br />, 'organiz~tion with the It:lternal Revenue Service. Most of those, in attendance-thai day serVed as officers in
<br />, later years. , B~sinesses have come and gone during the past few years, 'much as sifting sands on a beach
<br />or in the geserts, but the organiza~i<?n that was fou,n~ed, has continued to ~XisL . ,This is du~ to the
<br />volunteer services given 'by Kathleen France and many other La Porte Main ,Street Association members.
