Direct supervision of seven supervisors and fifty-one hourly technicians. Provide <br />leadership and support to operate and maintain the olefins unit in order to meet production <br />goals while meeting financial commitments and optimal unit performance through the <br />Maintenance Operations Workflow Process and Operating Discipline. In addition, provide <br />leadership for six training coordinators, one process safety management coordinator and one <br />administrative assistant. This group is responsible for the regulatory and skills based training, <br />as well as, process safety management for the entire complex. The team lead for the <br />Enterprise-wide Operating Discipline Implementation Team. <br /> <br />Equistar Chemicals, LP/OxyChem - Corpus Christi, Texas <br /> <br />1996 -1999 <br /> <br />Production Area Manager - Olefins/Aromatics <br />Primary responsibility for the technical direction and leadership of the olefins and aromatics <br />operating units while maintaining safety and environmental compliance. Direct supervision of <br />two production engineers and responsible for overall plant optimization. Leader of the <br />production engineering effort concerning day-to-day operations and production planning. <br />Establish monthly production plans and identification of plant constraints. Establish <br />performance criteria and monitoring methods to insure that the operating equipment is <br />performing properly and efficiently. Review and approve all Standard Operating Procedures <br />and modifications consistent with the Management of Change Procedure. Manage all process <br />chemical treating systems and outside chemical treatment companies. <br /> <br />Accomplishments <br />. 100% on-stream time and right first time for ethylene and propylene in 1998. <br />. Olefins unit flared only six hours from 1997 to 1998. <br />. Set annual production record for ethylene and propylene in 1997. <br />. Member of Operations Optimization Subcommittee and sponsor of C2 Converter Task <br />Team which contributed synergies in excess of $1MM per year. <br />. Member of Process Chemicals Evaluation Task Team chartered to reduce overall <br />company spending on process chemicals by $1-2MM per year. <br />
