AN ORDINANeE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 759, AN ORDINANeE ESTAB- LISHING A POLICY ON WAT~R AND SEWER LINE EXTENSIONS; ESTAB- LISHING CONNEeTION FEES AND INSPECTION FEES FOR PROPERTY HEREAFTER eONNECTED TO WATER AND SEWER MAINS; AND PROVIDING ,AN EFFBeTIVE DATE ijEREOF. , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE eITY OF LA POR~E: ; Section 1. ' Section 2 of Ordinance No. 759, as amended by Ordinance No., 759-D, is hereby amended, and shall hereafter read as follows: "Section, 2. A connection charge shall be made agains,t each' lot; tract, or parcel of land and the owner thereof whose water and sewer line shall be hereafter connected . with any water main or sanitary sewer main of the eity of La Porte, which 'charge shall be at the following rates, which rates are a portion of the total cost of such water and sewer mains , to-wit.: "(1) $1. 44 per front foot of the lot, tract, or parcel of land to which water connections may be made, plus a water tapping charge of: "(a) On connections requiring a 5/8"x3/4" meter, a fee of $184.00. "(b) On connections requiring a 1" or larger meter, at the actual cost of . the materials, plus 11.5% thereof, and the labor, plus 23% thereof. " (c;::) On existing connections requiring a larger meter, the cost of the new, larger meter shall be discounted by the cost of the existing smaller meter; ,"(cl)If the connection requires an excavation in an asphalt or concrete street, necessi- tating street repairs, there will be an additional charge of the actual cost of . said street repairs.
