MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING, PUBLIC HEARING AND WORKSHOP MEETING <br />OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />November 10, 2008 <br />1. Call to order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Porter at 6:03p.m. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Porter, Mayor Pro-Tem Mike Clausen, Council <br />members Tommy Moser, Mike Mosteit, Louis Rigby, John Black, Georgia Malone, Howard <br />Ebow and Chuck Engelken <br />Members of Council absent: None <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: City Manager Ron <br />Bottoms, Assistant City Attorney Clark Askins, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Police Chief <br />Kenith Adcox, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, Finance Director Michael Dolby, <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett, Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Suggs, <br />Tax Manager Kathy Powell, Planner Masood Malik, Purchasing Manager Susan Kelley, <br />Golf Maintenance Superintendent Dennis Hlavaty, Director of Planning Tim Tietjens, Fire <br />Chief Mike Boaze, and a number of other employees <br />Others present: Adam Yanelli of the Bayshore Sun, Dottie Kaminski, Dean Syman, Ted <br />Powell, Lori Druckenbrodt and John Kerbey, and a number of other citizens. <br />2. Reverend Michael Bingham of the Abundant Life Church of La Porte was not present to <br />lead the invocation. The Invocation was led by Councilmember John Black. <br />Mayor Porter led the Pledge of Allegiance <br />4. Presentations/ Proclamations <br />Mayor Porter read a Proclamation for Kerron Clement for "Kerron Clement Day". <br />Mr. Clement was not able to be at the meeting. Councilmember Howard Ebow will deliver <br />the Proclamation to him in person. <br />5. Consent Agenda <br />A. Council to consider approving minutes of the Regular Meeting and Workshop <br />Meeting of the La Porte City Council held on October 27, 2008 - M. Gillett <br />B. Council to consider approval or other action awarding Bid #09001 for chemical and <br />fertilizer - S. Kelley <br />C. Council to consider approval or other action for purchasing computer related items <br />on the State DIR contract - J. Suggs <br />
