<br />Town Hall Minutes - Distritt- November 11,2003 - Page 2 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Crystal Scott provided an overview of the Youth Summer <br />Employment and Youth Advisory Council programs. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bruce Meismer explained the Economic Development efforts of the City <br />and the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Councilmember Chuck Engelken provided an overview of the vision and expansion efforts <br />ofthe Harris County Hospital District for a facility being considered within the City of La <br />Porte. <br /> <br />Questions and Answer Session <br /> <br />The following comments were made by citizens: <br /> <br />The sidewalks near the old Posey T.V. location on Broadway need cleaned and repaired. <br /> <br />The Barbours Cut area is degrading to the City. It causes light pollution and the street is <br />filled with large holes and pot holes. <br /> <br />It was noted that communications regarding meetings needs improvements. <br /> <br />Sue Gail Kooken requested the fire hydrants in all of district 4 be checked. She felt there <br />may need to be additional hydrants. <br /> <br />Joy Nolin stated kids were drinking late at night at the park located near Lobit Street. <br /> <br />Paul Larson noted drainage concerns at his home and surrounding area. <br /> <br />Traffic light on Second Street next to the hardware store needs to be checked. <br /> <br />Fire hydrants on Carroll and Lobit Street need to be checked. <br /> <br />Lighting on Park and Main Street needs to be checked. <br /> <br />City Manager Debra Feazelle stated that staff would follow-up on the issues. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9: 15 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />~~JJJ!city Secretary <br /> <br />Approved: <br />A\~ C7, tUCA <br /> <br />Gimes Warren, District 4 <br />
