The City represents it holds all necessary licenses and certifications to perform such <br />services and is qualified by education and experience to provide such services. The La Porte <br />Police Department is an active member of the Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad and maintains <br />certitied Bomb Technicians, which possess the necessary training, certifications, tools, and <br />equipment to perform the functions required. The Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad is certitied <br />by the FBI and is responsible for providing Bomb Squad services to the southeast portion of the <br />Greater Houston Area. <br /> <br />This additional piece of equipment will enhance the Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad's ability to <br />perform its mandate. As such, the Police Department desires to enter into an Interlocal <br />Agreement with the County allowing the Department to utilize, store and provide upkeep for the <br />"Bomb Robot". One of the Department's bomb technicians has already been certified to <br />maintain, service and operate the "Bomb Robot" in question. Future extended warranty costs for <br />the "Bomb Robot", for which the City shall be responsible, are estimated to be approximately <br />$3,500 a year. <br /> <br />The term of this Agreement shall be one ( 1) year beginning upon execution by a duly authorized <br />representative of each Party. This Agreement shall automatically renew for successive one-year <br />terms until terminated by the Parties. Either Party may terminate this Agreement upon 30 days <br />written notice to the other Party or at any time by written agreement of the Parties. <br /> <br />Action Required bv Council: <br />
