I V *1.01 IN I IQ ki KITE6 IMI <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION'S 2019 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES SET-ASIDE <br />(TASA)/SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL -INFRASTRUCTURE (SRTS) PROGRAMS; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAWS; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />WHEREAS, the SRTS funds may be used for development of plans, specifications, and <br />estimates; environmental documentation; and construction of pedestrian and/or bicycle <br />infrastructure. The SRTS funds do not require a local match. As the Project Sponsor, the Local <br />Government would be responsible for all non -reimbursable costs and 100% of overruns, if any, <br />for SRTS funds; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br />Section 1. The City of La Porte supports funding the project, City of La Porte Wharton Weems <br />Blvd. / S. Broadway St. Sidewalk Improvements - SRTS, as described in the Local Government's <br />2019 TASA/SRTS Detailed Application including the construction budget, TxDOT's administrative <br />cost, and the required local match (if any) and is willing to commit to the project's development, <br />implementation, construction, maintenance, management and financing. The City of La Porte is <br />willing and able to authorize, by resolution or ordinance, the Local Government to enter into an <br />agreement with TxDOT should the project be selected for funding. <br />Section 2, The City Council officially finds, determines, recites and declares that a sufficient <br />written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council is posted at <br />a place convenient to the public at the City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding <br />this meeting, as required by Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; and that this meeting has <br />been open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject <br />matter thereof has been discussed, considered and formally acted upon. The City Council further <br />ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the contents and posting thereof. <br />Section 3.
