<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />dO/O.-1q <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THAT THE CITY OF LA PORTE WILL NOT USE EXCESSIVE <br />FORCE DURING ANY NON-VIOLENT CIVIL RIGHTS DEMONSTRATION ASSOCIATED <br />WITH ANY PROJECT FUNDED BY THE TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT PROGRAM DISASTER RECOVERY CONTRACT DRS01 0231, INCLUDING <br />PHYSICALLY BARRING ENTRANCE TO A FACILITY OR LOCATION WHICH IS THE <br />SUBJECT OF SUCH DEMONSTRATION, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />ARTICLE I <br /> <br />Section 1: The City of La Porte will not use excessive force by the law enforcement <br />agencies within its jurisdiction against any individual engaged in nonviolent civil rights <br />demonstrations, including physically barring any entrance to, or exit from, such a facility <br />within its jurisdiction. <br /> <br />ARTICLE \I <br /> <br />Section 2: It is the intent of the City to enforce this Resolution to the full extent allowed by <br />law. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 11\ <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this the 23rd day of August, 2010. <br /> <br />CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~4=fW/I <br />i Secreta <br /> <br />t?LJ:~ <br /> <br />Ci Attorney <br />
