RESOLUTION 2019-13 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte, La Porte Independent School District, Harris County, Harris County <br />Education Department, Port of Houston of Harris County Authority, Harris County Flood Control District, <br />Harris County Hospital District and San Jacinto Community College District ("Taxing Authorities") foreclosed <br />on a property ("the property") through a delinquent tax lawsuit and judgment identified as follows: <br />Tract 2: Lots 11 and 12, Block 988, Town of La Porte, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in <br />Volume 1, Page 27, Map Records of Harris County, Texas. Account No. 024-157-000-0049 <br />WHEREAS, the Taxing Authorities remain unpaid after exhausting all legal means to satisfy the collection of <br />the delinquent taxes due and owing to the Taxing Authorities, including conducting a public auction of the <br />prope Ity by the Harris County Constable whereby the property was struck off to the Taxing Authorities; and <br />WHEREAS, being no bids for the property at the tax sale on July 6, 1999, the City of La Porte, Trustee for <br />itself and the other Taxing Authorities, now holds the propelty in trust to secure the payment of taxes, <br />penalties, interest and costs owed to all Taxing Authorities participating in the foreclosure judgment; and <br />WHEREAS, the property held in trust by the City of La Porte, Trustee for itself and the other Taxing <br />Authorities, is exempt from taxation and it is in the best interest of the Taxing Authorities to have the property <br />returned to the active tax roll as a taxable property; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has received an offer of $3,289.38 from Samuel Schoolcrafi to purchase the <br />property. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the City of La Porte: <br />1. That all of the above paragraphs are true, correct and in the best interest of the City of La Porte and all the <br />other Taxing Authorities, and as such they are hereby incorporated in full and made part of this Resolution. <br />2. That the City of La Porte accepts the tax resale offer by Samuel Schoolcraft and authorizes the Mayor of the <br />City of La Porte to sign and execute the deed on behalf of the City of La Porte as Trustee for itself and the <br />other Taxing Authorities, to transfer title to the person submitting the offer to purchase the property. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this, the " day of 5W6ADQr- , 2019. <br />U <br />Clark T.
