<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />a.oo3.. ~, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The La Porte City Council finds it in the best interest of the <br />citizens of La Porte to authorize the City Manager to receive assistance, support <br />and education about Victims' Assistance with the acceptance ofa <br />Victim Coordinator and Liaison Grant made possible through the Attorney <br />General's Office, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has considered the submission of the <br />application to the Attorney General's Office for the continued funding of <br />the fulltime position of Victims' Assistance Liaison in the amount of <br />$86,738.00 for a 24-month period. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City of La Porte will receive a maximum of $86,738.00 for salary, <br />training and equipment from the Attorney General's Office with no required <br />match or funds from the City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse <br />of the $86,738.00 of the Attorney General's funds, La Porte City Council assures <br />that the funds will be returned to the Attorney General's Office in full. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, La Porte City Council has agreed that the Victim Coordinator <br />and Liaison Grant award will not be used to offset or decrease total salaries, <br />expenses, and allowances the City receives at or after the time the grant is <br />awarded. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the La Porte City Council <br />approves submission for the grant application for the Office of the Attorney <br />General, Crime Victim Services Division in the amount of $86,738.00. <br /> <br />Ji!:ll~}i7n/L-- <br /> <br />Passed and Approved this ~ <;1- day of 1'" uk[ <br /> <br />dJ)o3 <br /> <br />~ j4JJJJl <br />
