The grant
has been increased to accommodate increased costs associated with the installation of lights ($850,000),
and much of the original grant was delayed due to the cost increase. TxDOT has identified additional
funds to complete the original scope of work, which is estimated to cost $1,894,600. The attached
resolution outlines the detailed scope of work, developed in cooperation with the Airport Advisory Board,
and authorizes the City Manager to execute all contracts and agreements with the State on behalf of the
City.

The projects identified include fencing and gate improvements (including motorized gates), and overlay
and seal coating of taxiways and ramps. The scope of work is detailed in the attached resolution. The
Resolution also names TexDOT as its agent for applying, receiving and disbursing all funds for the
improvements and for the administration of contracts.

Funding for the City's 10% share ($189,460) is available in the Airport Fund. This was not included in
the current CIP budget. However, the funding will not be required until TxDOT has formally offered the
grant and it is accepted by the City.

Action Required bv Council: Approve Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute all contracts
and agreements with the State of Texas, and such other parties as shall be necessary for the
implementation of the improvements to the La Porte Municipal Airport.

Approved for City Council Ae:enda

D~e~~~~~

~-dd-05

Date
