<br /> The City Council of the City of La Porte met in a regular meeting on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the City Hall
<br /> Council Chambers,604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte,Texas,at 6:00 p.m.,with the following in attendance:
<br /> Councilpersons present: Louis Rigby, Brandon Lunsford, Steve Gillett, Danny Earp, Chuck Engelken, Bill Bentley,
<br /> Thomas Garza, Jay Martin, Nancy Ojeda
<br /> Councilpersons absent: None
<br /> Council-appointed officers present: Jason Weeks, Assistant City Manager; Lee Woodward, City Secretary; Clark

<br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER—Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
<br /> 2. INVOCATION AND PLEDGES—The invocation was given by Minister Shawn Williams, Gates of Praises Church,
<br /> and the pledges of allegiance to the U.S. and Texas flags were led by Councilperson Bill Bentley.
<br /> 3. PRESENTATIONS, PROCLAMATIONS, AND RECOGNITIONS
<br /> a. Proclamation in recognition of NAPTA Troubleshooting Skills Competition Day. [Mayor Rigby].
<br /> b. Recognition of the retirement of Peggy Lee, Office Coordinator for the Planning and Development Department.

<br /> Chuck Rosa spoke in opposition to action of the Planning and Zoning Commission and item 6a.
<br /> Mayor Rigby reminded the Council that the adopted parliamentary authority was Robert's Rules of Order, which
<br /> provides for each member to be recognized twice for ten minutes each on each item.
<br /> 5. CONSENT AGENDA (Approval of Consent Agenda items authorizes each to be implemented in accordance with
<br /> staff recommendations provided. An item may be removed from the consent agenda and added to the Statutory
<br /> Agenda for full discussion upon request by a member of the Council present at this meeting.)

<br /> e Award Bid 20007- Lomax Elevated Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation to Maguire Iron, Inc., authorize
<br /> the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of$275,000.00,and approve a project contingency

<br /> f. Award Bid 20008-Hillridge Water Tank Replacement to W. W. Payton Corporation, authorize the City
<br /> Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $160,000.00, and approve a project contingency of
