Councilperson Ojeda expressed her <br /> appreciation for the addition of an early voting polling location in the La Porte city limits. <br /> d. Presentation, discussion, and possible action on nominations to the 2020 Charter Review Committee. <br /> [Mayor Rigby] <br /> The Mayor noted there were no additional nominations and the Charter Review Commission would be <br /> composed of the members below. [Councilperson Nancy <br /> Ojeda] <br /> Councilperson Ojeda said the La Porte Development Corporation approved prior meeting minutes, elected <br /> Richard Warren as President and Nancy Ojeda as Vice President for Fiscal Year 2020-2021, and approved an <br /> $85,000 enhancement grant for 100 W. Main Street. <br /> 8. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS <br /> • Drainage and Flooding Committee meeting, September 14 <br /> • Fiscal Affairs Committee meeting, September 14 <br /> • City Council meeting, September 14 <br /> • Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, September 17 <br /> • Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting, September 24 <br /> • City Council meeting, September 28 <br /> City Manager Corby Alexander noted the postponed Fourth of July fireworks show will not be held for Labor Day. <br /> 9. COUNCIL COMMENTS Hear announcements concerning matters appearing on the agenda; items of <br /> community interest; and/or inquiries of staff regarding specific factual information or existing policy from <br /> the Mayor, Councilmembers, and City staff,for which no formal action will be discussed or taken. <br /> Councilpersons thanked Chief Deardorff and LPPD for their recent successes in curtailing crime; congratulated <br /> Trudy Rayburn at EMS for earning her Certified Public Manager designation; congratulated Kelly Garner on his <br /> retirement and offered appreciation of all he has done over the years; expressed condolences to the family of the <br /> recently deceased Council candidate Chuck Rosa; noted hearing U.S. Senator Ted Cruz speak at a local meeting <br /> last week; encouraged everyone to remain safe, healthy, and patient as preparations continue for the incoming <br /> storm; recalled the efforts of City employees in former storm events; and recognized the significant efforts of the <br /> Emergency Management Division in advance of the weather. <br /> yRN— t ob•ection Ma or Ri.b ad.ourned the meeting at 6:56 p.m. <br /> noo.war., • .
